Psychiatrists - Find a Private Psychiatrist in Surrey

Psychiatrists are medical doctors who specialize in mental health. They can treat many conditions, such as depression and anxiety. They can also aid in the negative side effects of treatment for cancer like fatigue and changes in thinking.

Dr Saad Al-Khalaf

Dr Saad Al-Khalaf is a highly experienced consultant general psychiatrist who is based in Guildford, Surrey. He also covers a portion of Hampshire and London. He specialises in the treatment of enduring mental illness and older adult psychiatry. He has a particular interest in organic mental health as well as depression and Iampsychiatry.Com anxiety (particularly treatment-resistant depression) and memory impairment such as dementia. Dr. Jennifer Laidlaw

Jennifer Laidlaw completed her MD at the University of British Columbia (UBC) before she completed her residency in Psychiatry at the University of Toronto. She was involved in medical education during her residency and has published and presented at international conferences on subjects like delirium screening, social media and professionalism. She began her career at Surrey Memorial Hospital as the Head Consultation Liaison (CL) in the Psychiatry Department. Her main focus was creating a flourishing, highly collaborative CL service to provide psychiatric treatment to patients in the medical and surgical units, including Palliative and Oncology Units. She was also awarded a Facilities Engagement grant to develop guidelines for managing vulnerable patients at the hospital.

She is the Provincial Practice Leader for Psychiatry at BC Cancer, Clinical Associate Professor at UBC and Past-President of the BC Psychiatric Association. She is also an assistant professor in the Department of Psychiatry at Tufts University School of Medicine and an adjunct faculty member in the UM PM&R and Family Medicine residency programs. She has had a long-standing interest in musculoskeletal research and education. She instructs Neuromuscular Medicine and Musculoskeletal Medicine for Family Medicine Residents. She also has ongoing research projects focusing on musculoskeletal educational, electrodiagnostic medical, and performing arts-medicine.

Dr. Pulkit Singh completed her medical degree at the University of New South Wales prior to completing her Psychiatry residency at the University of British Columbia. She received the Undergraduate Teaching Award and the Psychotherapy Award during her training to acknowledge her achievements in these areas. She has worked in a variety of Psychiatry areas and has a particular interest in Cardiac Psychiatry.

Dr. Nadeesha is a psychiatrist who works with patients with BC Cancer. She has a keen interest in Psychooncology, and is a fan of working with people who are older. She has a long-standing interest in geriatric psychiatry and has been a consultant at the Geriatric Psychiatry Consult Liaison Service (GPCLS) and the ECT Service at Vancouver General Hospital. She also serves as a teacher and mentor for medical students and residents.

Dr Theresa Lo

Dr. Theresa Lo is a graduate of the University of British Columbia, where she completed her medical school and residency in psychiatry. She has worked for the BC Cancer Agency and Surrey Mental Health. She also has a psychotherapy practice that she has been practicing for a while, including dialectical behavioural therapy and psychodynamic psychotherapy. She is proficient in Cantonese.

Dr. Karim is an active member of the Royal College of Psychiatrists and was trained at Guy's King's St Thomas', St George's and St George's Hospitals in London. She is a member of the Specialist Register for the General Medical Council and has been practicing psychiatry for more than 20 years. She has an interest in psychiatry for children and adolescents.

Dr. Richford started her career as a nurse and then studied medicine, receiving her MD from Dalhousie. She has since worked in various areas of Psychiatry, particularly in Psycho-oncology and Addiction Psychiatry and Consultation Liaison Psychiatry. She is currently a staff psychiatrist at Providence Health Care, Vancouver General Hospital and BC Cancer - Vancouver, as also an Associate Professor in Clinical Psychology at UBC. She is also the former president of the British Columbia Psychiatric Association.

Dr Margaret Wong

Dr Margaret Wong, a renowned medical expert is committed to improving healthcare services. She graduated from ROSS UNIV/SCHOOL of MEDICINE and VETERINARY METHOD. She has an excellent rating from patients. She is a board member of the American Board of Psychiatry and Neurology. She is also an active member of the Association of Physicians and Surgeons of Ohio. She is a judge on the Eighth Judicial District Court as well as the Federal Sixth Circuit Court.
